Seduction

Bernice McFadden is one of my favorite authors. I've read all but one of her books. Geneva Holliday is the lighter side of BM and I welcome her into my humble abode with open arms. Geneva hasn't let me down yet and as soon as I see new works by either or it's bought! Seduction was quite entertaining and I think it could easily be a made for tv movie. Hmmm who would I cast as what character??...You fill in the blanks. Seduction is a great, get your mind of the madness of the world kinda lighthearted read. Loved it and seems to me that the door was left open for this to have a sequel????

I pride myself on being an avid reader. Unfortunately I've never read anything by Geneva Holliday...I am so sorry it took me so long to discover her work. I absolutely loved this book and I love her writing style even more. What a story teller . As a member of black expressions I received this book as part of my remaining comittment. When it came in the mail I started to send this & the other book I received back as I didn't order either of them.I was going to opt for authors I was more familiar with. I read the jacket & figured what the hell I'll try it. Boy am I glad I did. I now have to make it my business to purchase her previous books. One things for certain I will be anxiously awaiting her next release...

This book was so good I am sad to see it end!!! "Geneva Holliday" always spins a fresh tale, full of characters that seem so real they almost jump out of the pages. In this story you meet Mildred Johnson an overweight ugly duckling who doesn't seem to fit in. Mildred has a good job, terrible fashion sense and a addiction to phone sex hotlines (lol). Enter Tony Landry a player for real with caviar dreams and KFC budget. Tony is sexy, chocolate and smooth....only he still lives with his MAMA!!! But the numerous women he seduces do not need to know that! When Tony starts working for Greene Investments, where Mildred is employed, Mildred is instantly smitten. Tony and a scheming friend of his come up with a scheme to steal money from inactive accounts. This scheme happens to involve Mildred. Mildred falls in love and Tony pretends to love her back, even bedding the matronly Mildred. Afterr a whirlwind romance, Tony "proposes" Mildred accepts pf course. The big day arrives and Tony skips town with the money Mildred helped him steal. They say love makes you do crazy things....THEY never lied. The saying goes payback is a B**CH, well so is Karma. The setting turns to the lovely island of BARBADOS where things really HEAT up!!!! See what happens when seduction, revenge and being crazy in love all clash. *I love the way Geneva, Chevy and Noah all make small appearance in this book*

I discovered Geneva Holliday books two weeks ago and have read 2 of her books in that time. Her books are like reading a National Enquirer - simple and juicy. I think I am hooked. This book: Mildred is buck toothed, wears bifocals and is fat, so when a hunk (Tony Landry) decides to become her FIRST boyfriend--she is both shocked and pleased. After Tony dogs her, Mildred goes to Barbados where she runs into Tony. Tony doesn't recognize her because she has had teeth implants, a [...] job, lost weight, got a new wardrobe and got her hair done. Tony falls in love with Mildred and Mildred gets her revenge. GREAT BOOK!

I've loved all three of the other books in the Geneva Holliday series and "Seduction" was no different. I purchased this book on its release date and read it over a weekend vacation trip. It's the perfect pool-side read. I was a little disappointed after reading the summary and realizing it wouldn't be a sequel to "Heat", but that feeling soon subsided. The new characters are just as "laugh out loud" funny and loveable as Geneva, Chevy and Noah (Crystal...not so much). Towards the end, I kept going back to the back of the book to see how many pages were left. I was that hooked. My only complaint about this book was the way it ended. I expected more detail but I expect that it'll "continue" in Geneva's next book.
