This is the first Yorgason book I read with a deeply disturbing message: that Child Abuse and Child Molestation take on many forms, most of which aren't recognized by others, and that others are considered "normal" and "acceptable", even though they leave scars that never heal without conscious intervention. Told in story form, this book shows how perpetrators and victims often are people we know, and though they may hide behind a "normal" facade, the wounds of the victim eventually manifest themselves, often in destructive ways, and the ugly acts, deceptions and manipulation of the perpetrators always have far-reaching effects. This book gave me insight that helped me to recognize and help those who had been vicitmized by these horrible, wicked practices.
