I bought the very good condition, but it looks like it should be okay. It is very very used

Haven’t read it yet

Great book, enjoyed it to the end.

Love the book, Anna Schmidt did a lovely job of pulling the story line together, would definitely read more of her books. I just finished it and knew I couldn't go to bed until I did. It makes you want to live in the time period 1800s even though life was hard, it shows that kindness, love, peace and contentment can still be had in the worst of times. Integrity, honor are still important what ever the century.

Lovely !!!

I loved this romance! It was so sweet and inspiring! I couldn't put it down!

Seaside Romance

I read the other reviews, and was hesitant about starting this book, but, I was glad I did. I really think the main characters were not as interesting as Emma and Johnathan, Gabe's parents. I really found them, and THEIR love story to be just precious! The story itself was fine, and I did not feel "bogged-down" by it, I was just wishing that I could have also been captivated by Lucie and Gabe!I did enjoy the Nantucket setting, but would have enjoyed a little more locale description...I.E.: The sounds and smells of the ocean, the lonely cry of the gulls, the full moon casting its eerie glow on the Atlantic below....Just a thought. Nantucket is a truly beautiful spot!

Nice story and fun "visit" to the ocean and the 1800's

A good story with some interesting characters and a fun seaside environment. I gave it four stars because the story became a little weighed down and seemed to loose the plot. The last half of the book was a bit of a let down. The reasons for Gabe, the main lead, becoming engaged to another woman was poorly done and out of character. This is a main character who was clearly strong willed and decisive and all the sudden he can't break the engagement he made. He has to wait for the woman he is engaged to (but not in love with) to be the one to break it off??? Beyond that frustration, it really was a nice story, the older couples' love story is wonderful and worth the time, overall a great relaxing visit to the past.
