A great deal about the beverage business has changed in the years since Sean Mooney published this book. Some of the advice seems quaint in today's regulatory, insurance and labor relations market, but this is still an excellent grounding in the business behind the Cheer-ful exterior of a pub. What Mooney got right were the human elements-dealing with the customer and employees. He also is up-to-date about issues of making and keeping loyal customers. This would not be considered as a textbook in a beverage management course, but it would make very useful reading for someone beginning a career in the bar or restaurant industry.
