A science fictions set for women

Of the two I liked "Screwtop" more, as the characterizations and plot seem more realistic than the Hugo award winning "The Girl who was plugged in". The Tiptree novel invents a new technology of wireless remote control of a human clone by a controller. He has the "imprinting" of personality from controller to the blank clone, in a way that breaks your heart, but the prose is rough and raggedly hard to read. McIntyre seems to be an underrated author: both the novels I've read by her were very good. The prison in this novel is like a southern road gang of the worst sort with women prisoners. Some people are even good at winning while losing? A future "marriage" of a group sort is a plot element. I liked both novels.
