I picked up this set at a Goodwill store. My Kindergartner is a Scooby Doo fanatic! She has been reading about a year, and she loves to read these. They are short, so she will actually read the entire set everyday.

Fantastic for any Scooby Lover!

These books are wonderful and keep my son interested. He is a Scooby Doo freak, so this was perfect. He is actually trying to read these and they keed his attention. Great words and great little stories.

Next step.

Great stories! Zoinks, this book isn't perfect but like Scoob stories are really fun to read. This is a set for kids reading at a level between the beginning phonics books and chapter books. I recommend the "Now I'm Reading" books for beginners. If you purchased this set thinking it was for beginners hold on to them. In a few months your kids will love them.

Classic Scooby! Lots of Fun! Hip! Interesting!

This is the greatest phonics set I've seen! I wish there was a pack 2 out. My 4 1/2 son wanted to buy some Scooby Doo chapter books, but I told him he would need to learn to read a little better first. So we got this set to practice on. This is NOT the set for some one who wants dull "Run, Jane, Run" style reading. This is for the kids (and parents) who like to actually learn and practice sounding things out. Some of the words did stretch his abilities, but he learned not to be afraid of larger words and how to pay attention to all the sounds in a word. After all, it is hard to learn and grow if you never stretch yourself! He loved the "fun" words, like "surprize" and "pizza" and "ghosts". By the time he got near the end of the set, he was sounding out the tougher words even without my help. He is also proud of the fact that now he has some books that his teen-age sister is happy to listen to him read. Both kids (teen & toddler alike) think the pictures are fun. This set is hip, interesting and the author has a sense of humor that appeals to kids. Now my son reads the bedtime stories to me! That is a cool switch!

Fun reading for K-1!

My daughter loves reading these books! She is in the last months of Kindergarten (when they have mastered basic sounds and blends). The storys in her school work are boring, with these books she is excited to read about something SHE wants to read about! We are on our fourth read through. I recommend them for 1st grade level reading.
