This February issue of The Trailsman lives up to all expectations.Although the location is somewhat different since we follow Skye as he leads and protects travellers through the mountains and then up the Pacific Coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco. In the year 1858 this part of the country was as wild, lawless and dangerous as you would find anywhere. Though there are pleanty of highwaymen and outlaws intent on killing them,Fargo takes on all comers, and as bleak as the situations appear at the time;Skye prevails. He even adds 4 killers to his entourage who he has collected along the way.He is planning to see that they get their justice and Fargo stands to reap some hefty rewards for his efforts. These 4 outlaws give Fargo a lot of lip and are as much trouble to him as the rascals he has to fend off along the trail. The worst of the bunch,Coyote, taunts Skye with this bit of venom; "You're a hard man to kill,Trailsman. But every man's string has to run out.Yours runs out in the morning." While these taunts start to get under Fargo's skin;Fargo has no doubts who is going to do the "Air Dance" in the end. A fast-action read, that keeps you wondering what is coming next;but as anyone who knows Skye Fargo, his demise is unlikely. The same thing can't be said or those who decide to take him on. "Because a killer, even a rare smart one,is predictable,"Fargo replied.
