Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 21 Days

Hmm this is weird, I am the only one who is writing a good review on this book. Whats up with that. Maybe the people who wrote the reviews are not actually programmers but confused minds. Please accept my apologies. I think this book is a very good source on VB 6.0. I used this during my Master's Program, during my Internship and in my professional life. I dont know what people are expecting, but this is a good medium level fast paced source on VB 6.0. If you have to write a quick VB App, and dont have much time on your hands, pick up this book. If you want to be a VB guru then this is not what you want. But for starters and quick reference people who use VB 6.0 from time to time, I would highly recomment this one.

I own the Professional Refrence Edition (Hardcover), and I find Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 21 Days a good book for reference. While it isn't the best for teaching beginners, anyone with a bit of understanding of Windows who has fooled around with the program can find the guide easy to use and full of information. I use this book whenever writing programs, along with Microsofts Programmers Guide. A good buy to start a beginner programmer off, or to add to a VB Programmers Collection.

I have found this book to be more than adequate in introducing me to VB6. The hands on aspect of the book really helps you to grasp the concepts quickly and easily

I am a new programmer. I thought this book was so well done that i am considering a career change. It is good enough for a new programmer and seasoned profesionals. My father has been in the industry for 30 years and he is also very impressed. ANYONE CAN DO THIS!

I purchased this book as a relatively new vb programmer. I'd had Visual Basic 6 for 3 days, and i already knew most of the very Basics of Visual Basic programming. With this book, however, i learned about so many more functions not obviously available without reading through all of the documentation. I learned about arrays and the Windows API and saving data and a lot more. Without this book I would still be at stage one. Since reading it, i've programmed a 2 applications, a game and an addressbook program, and they are great! By the way, it says "21 days", but I had finished several "days" in one day, and it really is much faster. Another nice thing about this book was that though it did provide source code, i didn't have to be sitting at the computer while reading to understand the concepts. I still use this book constantly as a reference. It is great for new programmers.
