problem installing redhat 5.0

In the second fase of installing it says in the book that one can use Disk Druid to partition the hard disk. It doesn't say how to get to the diskdrive "hdb" within Disk Druid. Could the writer give me the solution?

Very good, a must read for all beginning and experienced ppl

This book is a must read for the beginning and experienced Linux users. Includes a CD with all you need for a complete Linux box.

This is the Book

I like this book. Although I didn't use the 5.0 disk that came with it. Because I had a 5.2 disk. It helped me with alot of things. I know it doesn't off the trouble shooting like most others do. But this one is a great book all in all. It helped me notice errors I didn't even know I had. I also was able to tune my system for better performance and speed. Thank you for a great book.

Very Useful, Easy to Read, Accurate, Covers All The Basics.

I loved this book. I had some experience with Red Hat Linux before, but I wanted a better foundation. I spent about a month with the book checking out almost every detail. I found almost no errors. Almost everything worked as it was supposed to work. I practiced installing Linux 5.0 many times - using different options each time because I am teaching myself how to become a Linux administrator in an Engineering Technology department. I am shocked at all the people who say they did not like the book. I did something that could help those people - I made help notes with my own examples on selected topics such as vi, grep, find, locate, df, etc. There is so much to learn that it is hard for me to remember it all. My help notes, a different file on each subject, make it easy for me to review.

A good, one source guide for Red Hat Linux.

The book tells you everything you need to use Linux. The installation section is good except on the partitioning section (and trying to get Linux to dual boot), but I finally figured it out after several "trial and error". The command line section is somewhat complicated, but I would blame Linux instead of the author. Unlike other books, this focus on helping the user use Linux productivly, such as doing common tasks that we can do without using Mac or Windows. This is a good source for intermediate PC users trying to learn Linux. This book does need some more polish, but it's the best one out there. It even includes Red Hat Linux 5 with the book.
