Samantha's Story Collection

Samantha has always been my favorite American Girl. She is clever and brave and fiercely loyal. Even as an adult I reread her books! The special edition of the American Girl books is by far the most beautiful. A beautiful “portrait” of the girl, in this case Samantha, gold edges, and a fabric bookmark. It includes all 6 books as well as the “family and friends” and historical pages. And, these are Pleasant Company, so they have the original artwork, not the ruined-uh, I mean- updated versions. You won’t be disappointed getting this copy. This is not the newer story collection, with a picture and then six pictures beside it on the cover, just to be clear. Those are the newer ones, still nice, but more cutesy than beautiful and they have the changed pictures.

My daughter loves these books and has been reading them since she was 5. The illustrations are very well done and the concepts in the book are age appropriate for children. They not only learn some real history from that time period but the characters also go through emotional struggles that children can learn from. The collection books are my favorite, no more losing one of the books in the series because they are all in one bound book, which also has a really pretty illustration of the character on the front. My daughter owns several of the collection books now and I just bought another.

This is a beautifully illustrated, great story book for young girls. Also good reading for adults as well. I wish this edition had included a Look Into The Past section at the end of the book, instead of the preview of Nellie's book. But the "Welcome To Samantha's World" book fills in the omitted information.

I really thought it was awesome. What I really liked about it was that you could really picture in your mind what things would have been like in the Victorian times. Everybody might enjoy it too.

This is a collection of the first six books of the Samantha series. Of course the stories are great on their own, but how cool to have all six books bound together. Why don't they publish these series like this more readily? Can't wait to buy all eight girls' stories in this format.
