This long-awaited sequel to "Devil's Honor" is "a story of the redemption of love and the renewal of faith that will move and inspire" ("The Literary Times"). This description may be from another edition of this product.
Debra Dier is a wonderful author who develops great storylines as well as characters. "Saint's Temptation" is no exception. This book is the sequel to "Devil's Honor" (another great read)with Justin's brother Clayton and Marisa as our hero and heroine. This story begins with a love at first sight drama and is a little different than most formula romances. Clayton and Marisa get together almost immediately, but are torn apart before their wedding due to some miscommunication. Through most of the body of the book you are witnessing the longing of these two people who have never gotten over each other and whose love still burns strong after 7 years. Marisa is a refreshing character in her honesty, spunk, and humor. She offsets Clayton's stoic self perfectly. The story is indeed a true romance...the consumation of their love does not happen until near the end. But that's the beauty of this book...you don't miss it as you are so engaged in the wonderful writing and characters. It's a shame that many of Ms. Dier's great stories are no longer in print and difficult to find. I was able to get this title in a used book store. The same goes for "Devil's Honor", "Lord Savage", "MacLaren's Bride" and my all time favorite "The Sorcerer's Lady". If you can pick these other titles up, you will be a happy romance reader...they are all good stories!
Charming characters

This is my first experience with a novel by Debra Dier. I found the characters of Marissa and Clay to be very personable and engaging. I really liked the idea of this bold, irreverent young lady setting out to seduce her scholarly bookworm. It made a nice change from the world-weary, fabulously rich man seducing the prim and proper bluestocking. What I didn't really enjoy was the transformation from the rather endearing bookworm to the cold soldier. It was almost a cancellation of the first part of the book. However, it worked with the plot, but I missed that shy demeanor. The sequence of Mari and Clay "solving" the murder plot could have been a little more developed, I think. It just seemed rather abrupt, so little to go on and then whoops! there's the devil who did it! I think this book is definitely worth reading though. You just really have to like a story where the characters have such love for each other.

I absolutely loved the characters Clay and Mari. They were perfect together! I also liked seeing Justin(devils honor) in this story. It was fun and exciting trying to figure out who wants to murder CLay. This book is a great romance, I finished it in a few days. I couldn't put it down!
