A Mother's Love is more precious than gold...

'Sacred Sons' is a very inspirational story that needed to be told. Time and time again, mother's overlook their son's flaws because all they can see is the love that they have for them. And more often than not, those same son's take that same kindness for a weakness and uses it to their advantage. Thus the plot of Ms. Smith's fascinating novel. Her characters all have different circumstances but the results are all the same. They fear for their son's destructive ways which are empowered by their actions and they are all at a crossroads on how to correct the error of their ways. Take time out of your busy schedule and join them on their enlightening journey to self discovery for the betterment of themselves, their families, their sons, and maybe you and me. It is a lesson to be learned for all. Perhaps a seed to be planted to be passed on to someone else that may be in need one day. Wonderful job, excellent lesson! Keep up the good work! A real joy to read!

Highly recommended

I truly enjoyed this book and recommend it to all mothers raising young men. It taught a very valuable lesson. We, as mothers, sometimes have a tendency to spoil our sons and not want them to grow up. This book taught me that if I want my son to grow up into a young man, I have to teach him to and not spoil and give into his every want. Excellent work Ms. Hudson-Smith.

Sister-Friends

Life is hard without your sister-friends, and Linda Hudson-Smith has made this fact evident in her latest release SACRED SONS. Simone, Sinclair, Hannah, and Glenda are four women with sons who are straying from the straight and narrow in various ways. If these young men are not exploiting women - including their mothers, they are abusing drugs and alcohol, disrespecting authority, and generally living on the wild side. The mothers are linked by their common denial in seeing their sons for who they really are. They have idealized their little boys and cannot see the reality of the monsters they have become. Fueled by guilt caused by their own personal short-comings, the women believe that if they leave these young men to struggle to manhood alone, their precious babies will never make it. Tara, the fifth sister-friend, struggles with accepting and forgiving her errant brother who she believes caused their mother's death with his drug-abusing ways. She tries to talk to her sister-friends about how they are rearing their sons, but the older women don't want to listen to her "tough love" advice. They think that since Tara has no children of her own, she can't possibly understand their lives. What they later discover is that Tara knows exactly what she's talking about because of the experiences that left her relationship with her brother in ashes and her own indulgent mother dead. SACRED SONS by Linda Hudson-Smith is an uplifting and inspirational book that every mother who thinks she may be overindulging her children should read. Although it is listed as fiction, the characters demonstrate their strong Christian faith throughout the book. This book also has its share of romance, as the women explore their relationships with their spouses and significant others. Ms. Hudson-Smith is well-known for her romance novels, but she will soon be well-known for her inspirational fiction as well. Reviewed by Kim Anderson Ray of The RAWSISTAZ™ Reviewers

Sacred Sons

What's the old saying? Mothers raise their daughters and love their sons. Mrs. Hudson-Smith must have been thinking this when she wrote this book. Simone Branch has used her broken heart as an excuse to make bad relationship choices and to smother her son with over protectiveness. Sinclair Albright's career has revolved around the financial needs of her son and her husband is fed up. Glenda Richards' is in a loving relationship but refuses to let the man in her life make a man out of her child. Hannah Brentwood is married to a good, God-fearing man who's forced to pull a tight reign on their grown son. These women all have one thing in common: they love their sons. Tara Wheatley is the youngest of the hospital friends but by far the wisest. As a result of watching her own mother coddle and spoil her brother, she knows just how to raise a child without ever giving birth. Sacred Sons takes a close look at five different women and their relationships, their actions and their hearts. Accepting that you haven't raised your child right cannot be an easy task, but each of these women came to face the cold truth. Constant prayer and self-examination strengthened them to do the one thing they hated most: cut the apron strings! I was instantly touched by this story as a mother of a son, a sister of a brother and a daughter of a mother who is guilty of some of the same things as these women. A great inspirational story told with style and finesse. Reviewed By: AC Arthur, Black Butterfly Review
