When Rupert seems to be paying more attention to Daisy the new fish, Polly, the bird, decides to fly away. This description may be from another edition of this product.
ISBN 0819311243 - This is a great book about feelings and sharing, perfect for the older (relatively speaking, of course!) child when they get a new baby in the house. Rupert and Polly are equally happy when they bring home Daisy, their new goldfish. Polly's happiness fades as Rupert makes a fuss over Daisy's ability to do things that Polly can do, too. After all, he doesn't think it's so amazing when Polly can count, so why the fuss when Daisy does it?! The final straw comes when Rupert gives Polly's bell to Daisy without even asking her permission - so she runs away! Can the happy home they'd shared ever be restored? Of course it can, with a little effort. AND if Rupert can convince Polly to come home again! Silver does a nice job with the story and the illustrations are wonderful. Read this one and you'll want to add lots of Silver to your child's library. - AnnaLovesBooks
