Running Thetrans-America Footrace

As a long-distance runner for the past 19 years I can relate to this book. Although I would never run that long, especially on a hard surface. I have been the official photojouirnalist for a similar run across Europe. I think there are several criterias that are a must before even considering such an event for any one to participate in. Time, money, support of family and friends, determination mental toughness and a certain level of fitness. The book gives a fair account of what it takes to engage in sucdh an outrageous event but there are always people who accept such challenges. I will have a book written by 2100 after I will accompany Jesper Olsen - the Danish runner who became the 1st human to run around the world in over 2 years, finishing in October 2005. I will be there not to run but as crew, driver and photographer) for a North - South world run. The book about the Across America Run depicts the hardships in every aspect in vivid terms and even none ruinners shopuild get some benefit from reading it.
