Thought-provoking, important work

Through a series of fiction stories, connected by their depictions of life in and around an English village at difference periods of time from the Bronze Age to the present, River of Passion traces the origins of the author's family and of local residents. Over time, the continuing changes in people's circumstances, organization, technology and belief systems convey valuable lessons for us today, who are again in the process of major changes in our environment and economy. While River of Passion is engrossing and thought stimulating, it is also thus relevant to our near-term future. The stories are fascinating, sometimes tragic and sometimes humorous, authored by a woman who grew up in England's West Country, immersed in the specific locations as well as familial and local legends. What makes this well-researched book so extraordinary is Angela Thompson Smith's rare psychic abilities. She utilized her uncommon, experienced remote viewing skills and her brilliant bio-mind to see into the past at different times to sense the variation in the way of life and in historical circumstances that influences us still. The book is more than just a tribute to our flexible ability to adapt as humans; it is a forerunner of a new, superior way of understanding our mostly forgotten past.

Author Review

Hi, I'm Angela Thompson Smith and I grew up in the village of Shirehampton near Bristol, England. The village has ancient roots and one branch of my family lived there at least 500 years ago. River of Passion actually begins in the Neolithic Age and ends in 2025 with a future look at the village. My goal was to share the researched history of the village by using a fictional story set in real history. Researching the history of the book took more time than actually writing the book.I wanted each chapter, set in a different era, to elicit an emotion (passion) from the reader. The book features the River Avon, a mysterious spring called the Buckle Well, historic structures, some of which still exist, a bronze ring, and characters who lived (or may have lived) in Shire. River of Passion is complemented by my other book Shire, a small book of reminiscences of growing up in Shirehampton during the 1950s. I hope you enjoy my books!
