It teaches you how to make contact withhorses, what kind of equipment you need and what you do not need, how to prepare for your riding lessons and how to get the correct "seat". The book also gives you detailed instructions as to how to mount the horse (not so easy as you think!), and the differend techniques of riding. As a supplement to riding lessons, this book is superb. It tells you everything you will need as a beginner. However, it tells you nothing about how to take care of a horse - but that is a different story and a different book. The book has good explanations, drawings and photos. It suits young people as well as us "oldies" who just started to ride in middle age.. Enjoy!
