Richard Scarry's Early Words

Early Words was my sons' favorite first book. I couldn't wait to give this to my two year old grandson. He loves the book as much as his father. He is already looking a the words printed next to the picture. The book holds its charm even after twenty-six years.

I don't usually enjoy reading Word Books aloud to my children, but this book is one we've memorized from so many readings. It has a story line as well, and the best part is playing a game my daughter and I made up. After reading each page, I ask her, "Where's the bug?", because there is a little bug somewhat hidden on every page. My daughter was very young, under 2, when we started this game and it really made her think and enjoy this book so much more. Now that she is older and beginning to read, we use this book to sight-read words. I highly recommend this book! And what a value! Did you see the price?
