Return to Bitter Creek

I read this book when I was younger, and was struck by how the details of the character's lives made this story so relatable and realistic. Young Lacey doesn't remember the home of Bitter Creek that she and her mother Ann-called Campbell, fled many years ago, but both are now back with Ann's boyfriend David, trying to make a life for themselves. Convulted mother-daughter relationships, extended family, gossip, jealousy, friendships, acceptance, healing, and overall everyday life with it's ups and downs are what Lacey,Campbell, and David encounter. As they work to find a niche for themselves, things start to lool up, until an unexpected tragedy throws life off kilter. Once again life throws Lacey and Campbell a curveball, but the strength and bonds of family pull them through. I stongly recommend this book for all ages!!!
