What do all authentic Christians believe about God, Jesus Christ, the Spirit, and the church? Sproul explains these essential truths so all can understand them.
This is Sproul's first book, so it isn't quite as polished or as deep as his others, but it is still good. The book is a meditation on the Apostle's Creed. Each chapter is devoted to a line or two, and RC analyzes the line and how we as Christians understand it. It's a solid work, and probably good for a beginner who is new to Christianity or the creeds.
A very intelligent and very clear summary of the faith
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
This book is very well written. The writing is very clear, very precise, and intelligent. This book does not present an in-depth analysis of the Christian faith, but by it's own admission describes the "basic beliefs" - and it does that admirably. This is "vanilla" Christianity presented simply and fairly. R.C. Sproul walks the reader through the meaning behind the Apostles' Creed one line at a time, sometimes quoting historical and modern theologians and intellects, and both praises and chides Christian groups where applicable according to the subject of each chapter.
