Rendezvous with Revenge

Abby Richmond,waitress, Dr. Ethan Grant's part-time receptionist, and a girl extremely unlucky in love in every facet of her life. Unfortunately poor Abby has been wickedly betrayed not only by a former boyfriend, but also by her family. She promises herself that she will never put her self in that position again.... Then Dr. Grant has a seminar that he suddenly wants to attend after hearing about the new guest speaker, Dr. Ballistrat....but Ethan needs a date since he just recently broke up with his last mistress. Dr. Ethan Grant has only one use for women and he seems to be allergic to love, marriage, and commitment. Ethan thinking that all women are mercernary and all have a price asks Abby to pose as his lover for this conference for a certain dollar amount. Abby accepts, but not for the reason Ethan assumes and this only confirms his feelings about women. So why does Dr. Ethan Grant need a pretend lover to bring to this seminar and what makes a man so anti-commitment? Why is he so concerned with Dr. Ballistrat that suddenly he wants to attend this seminar? I love reading this author and this book was well worth it. (POSSIBLE SPOILERS) The love scenes are scorching and I loved the hate-lust at first sight. I like that the two main characters were opponents for most of the book (and it was all due to sexual tension). I enjoyed how the reader truly sees the real Ethan at the end without all the bitterness.

This is one of the few books I've read with a strong, funny, and intelligent heroine and the hero isn't too bad either.The back cover says:Ethan Grant seemed to have no place in his life for women, except as expensive playthings. So Abby shouldn't have been surprised when Ethan, her boss, offered to pay her to attend a conference with him - and demanded that she pretend to be his lover!There were plenty of shocks in store during that weekend. Suddenly, Ethan wanted Abby in his bed for real. BUt it also became clear that he had another date on his mind, too - with an old flame...Was Abby just a pawn in his game of vengance?
