Remember: A Seasonal Record

I really love McClure's artwork after coming across it in LA's MOCA museum. I have started a collection of her books, journals, and even shirts. I have both this journal "Seasonal Record" and "Things to Make and Do." I would say because "Seasonal Record" is organized by the season it is easier for me to go page by page. "Things to Make and Do" is organized by words like Dreams, wishes, learn, etc. that run along the edge of the page (like a tab). I like it for its own purpose (organizing my dreams, wishes, so on), but as far as an everyday journal goes, the seasonal journal is great! The size is also nice too, not too big or small. There are also numerous pages throughout that show her wonderful papercuts. A great gift to give!

Nikki McClure has developed a large fan base for the masterfully crafted, meaningful images in all of her work. She creates her images by cutting away at black paper to create the lines. The journal has plenty of space for you to write in but is filled with many of her images reminding you of seasons changing and calling you to make the most of the seasons. Can be used for more than one year I believe, you can keep it for some time and compare years against years.
