R.E.M. 'Hello'

In this photograph book there are pictures you can't find elsewhere. There are many Michael Stipes's close-ups which are just gorgeous and inspiring as well; some are really unusual and surprising for example: in a photo you can see a close-up of Stipe's feet malachite-green colored; in another he almost looks like an enormous insect, and so on. Many photographs have been shot during R.E.M. tours around the world, and in my opinion, the one shot during a show in Berlin is amazing. The colors are beautiful and vivid, and the subjects of these photos are various. A highly recommended picure book.

The visual experience of a dream... as in a REM status

This is absolutely a great photo book. Of course you'll love it if you're a REM fan, but even if you're not familiar with the band, these pictures are great in itselves. You can see one picture where michael stipe seems like thom yorke's conscience, or another with a funny mohawk at the back of his head. Or peter buck flying on stage as if he was a teen, and a great mike mills playing bass in his boxers. great moments, great format, it's a utterly beautiful book. a whole experience. if you're reading this, trust me, you better buy it!

Must have for any R.E.M. fan.

Amazing photography and a must have for any fan. Great behind the scenes look at the one of the best bands of this generation. Book is full of well over 100 photographs detailing REM from the 2001 tour to their Hall of Fame induction in 2007. Perfect coffee table book. About 20% of the photographs are captioned by Michael or the other members of the band.

Loved It!

I loved the book, the pictures were awesome, fresh, vulnerable and honest. REM is the greatest band ever and to have a glimpse into their world was amazing. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, it would have been helpful to have a listing of who some of the other people in the photos were.

Great look at this iconic band

David Belisle must really be close to the members of R.E.M. to get such intimate photos of the band, especially frontman Michael Stipe. Who else could get photos of the band using urinals, Michael Stipe shaving his head or just photos of band members napping? There's more to the book than that. I especially like the images taken before the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony where we can peek in on Michael Stipe getting ready--putting on his clothes and waiting patiently in what looks like the back kitchen of the venue. R.E.M. fans will love this book.
