Ms. Low provides a much needed fresh look at recruitment. As a long time librarian, I'm dismayed how many libraries still follow traditional recruiting practices that are no longer effective in today's job market. She views recruiting as a competitive activity, and provides the reader with excellent advice on how they can compete for the best applicants. Librarians need to read this book and update their recrutiting practicies if they have any hope of their libraries surviving in the future economy. The book is a complete "How-To-Do-It" guide for anyone involved in recruiting library staff, and contains invaluable appendicies. This is a "must read" for all library managers, library school students, and any "old school" librarians open to new ideas.
