very helpful

This book was very helpful to explain why I think what I do about Worship. The book backed up most of its views with scripture and was extremely applicable. During some sections it seems like it is on a tangent though.

Another great book from a well-respected author

As one reads this book, one gets the sense that the writer has a broad and balanced perspective on worship, a perspective that sees beyond the immediate, with its struggles, and views worship over the long term. He describes the book as his "worship pilgrimage." Originally written in 1986, this revision adds 3 new chapters at the end. In the early chapters, he quotes many passages of scripture that are often used in discussing worship; yet even in the familiar material, the reader perceives that Wiersbe is trustworthy, has earned the right to be heard and has something fresh to bring to the topic. His language is inclusive and inviting. Having read a few "new/cutting edge" books on worship, it was refreshing to read Real Worship and be reminded that while we are in the midst of much cultural change, and while many seem to rush to catch the elusive "new" in worship, there is a steadying sense of timelessness in worship, because worship is about God, who is unchanging.

Careful and profound theology of worship.

Warren Wiersbe has done what few other writers on this subject have been able to accomplish: he has actually reviewed what the Scriptures teach about worship and presented it in a way which is both insightful and practical. The heart of Wiersbe's book is that worship is not about singing and praise, but raither is an expression of a relationship of love with God. What a marvelous insight into the real biblical doctrine of worship! If you want to be challenged in your Christian walk and if you want to learn all about worshiping your Creator, check out this marvelous work. Expect to find yourself rethinking your own relationship with God and re-evaluating the way your congregation goes about its business in Sunday morning worship.
