Good writing is a network of skills that can be taught, practiced, and mastered. This book presents paragraph development and composition skills in clear, teachable steps. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book almost looks too simple, but it worked out very, very well. The problem in Korea is that students often feel they should be learning from difficult-looking textbooks, despite their level. Also, they feel they should just instantly go from knowing nothing to writing full-page TOEFL essays! This book doesn't look difficult, so I was a little worried at first, but it turned out fine. This book really helped my uni students learn how to write a proper basic paragraph. It could also be used for high school students, provided they can form sentences on their own. I also required my students to write a daily journal of at least 20 lines or so (using paragraph form). I was satisfied with this book, and my students said it was "good."
Good for higher level ESL students

I used this text with a class of 25 ESL students in Japan, most of them who had been abroad for an extensive period of time and were highly motivated to learn English writing. This is a good choice of book if your students' already possess intermediate writing skills and would like to progress to paragraph and short essay writing.
