Read and Learn with Classic Stories, Grade K

We have a very large pre-school library but my 3-year-old daughter was particularly enthralled with this book from day one. She quickly began memorizing the stories and retelling them with great zeal. The pictures are large and captivating. The verse simple but not overly dumbed-down from the originals. Now, at 3 1/2 she is also able to do the workbook activities at the back of the book and is very proud of her own progress. (We have simply used finger pointing rather than crayon so that we can do over and over.)

Great product! My kids love to read the stories again and again. We use our fingers to point instead of pencils so we can do the activities over too. And my kids require us to turn to the activities almost EVERY time. Good skills relevant to a 2-4 year old's capabilities. A homeschool helpful tool. Makes reading time fun and even more educational. But it!

I received this book as part of a home school curriculum, I wasn't sure how it was going to work, but, my son (7) loves the book! It's a good read, we read it together & he enjoys doing the activites in the back of the book. The activities include writing, comprehension, vocabulary, phonics, word structure, punctuation and more. The activities aren't the same for every chapter, so it's interesting. We both like the way the stories are told, they're closer to the original and not "disneyized". Our discussions continue on even after the story has ended. If you're looking for a good book to use at home this should be one of them. I like that the book includes answer keys and addtional learning activities. Using this book has helped enrich my son's love of reading.
