Pp Raindrop Plop!

We received this book when my daughter turn one year old. She loved the pictures and the story even then. Now she is two and still requests to read it everyday! She know how to count and loves counting the items on each page. It is such a sweet story and the illustrations are just wonderful. A must have book!!

This book is a true pleasure to read. We actually "sing" the words of the book to our one-year old and he usually is interested in sitting for at least two repetitions of the book. The illustrations are really wonderful and hold his attention. The colors are vivid and the story is simple and satisfying--that of playing the rain and then going inside for a warm bath and snack. We recommend this book highly.

The State of Tennessee sends a book each month to every young child in the state who is signed up for the program. This book was the selection for, I think, December 2006. Of the several dozen books on my 17-month-old's bookshelf, this is one of three he routinely picks out to be read to him before bedtime. It is beautifully illustrated, and a pleasure to read aloud, even for someone who doesn't particularly enjoy reading aloud, like myself. I've never reviewed a childrens book, but I liked this one so much, that I felt the need to chime in with a few words of praise for the author and illustrator.

My daughter is 18 months and will sit several times a day for a half hour at a time with this book. The illustrations are colorful. The prose has great rhythm to it as well. She loves to pick out all of the animals in the story. The book counts up to 10 and back down, following a little girl and her dog through a rainy day.

I usually restrict my purchases to the most classic, well-loved children's books, but when I saw this one, I couldn't resist, and I love it already, and am sure that children will, too. The book follows a little girl through all the cozy pleasures of a rainy day like puddles, a raincoat and hat, soaking in a nice warm tub, cocoa with marshmallows... all with bright, beautiful illustrations, and a counting lesson to boot! I've always loved and appreciated the coziness of rainy days, and with this perfect book, I'll be able to share that feeling with my children. I can't wait!
