Expectations abound in this easy to read Delton story as Rabbit quests for carrot cake. This animal fantasy tells the story of Rabbit's journey to his friend Bear's house who "always bakes carrot cake on Saturday". In a fast moving plot, Rabbit meets a few of his friends along the way. Each encounter poses a different dilemma for Rabbit as he hurriedly tries to get to Bear's house. Lasker illustrates these scenes in an easily understandable manner which harmonizes well with the simple, repetitive text.
