Quentin Corn is the first book I read to my fifth graders every year. A farmyard pig must choose between becoming a horse, a dog, a cat, a chicken, or a human to escape the axe for barbeque. Quentin's education on becoming a human gives the reader great insight into human personalities. In the end, he must decide whether to stay a human boy or go back to being a boar with a band of feral pigs. It's hilarious when no adult can see through Quentin's disquise, but children can.
