Geologist Frankie MacFarlane is drawn into a police investigation when the remains of her ex-fianc? are found in the desert. And after a student and several of her colleagues are attacked, Frankie realizes she may be the killer's next target.
Miller's mystery novel is thrilling and engaging--the perfect book for a fun read. Frankie, the main character, centers the book and is eminently likeable--an important factor for me. She is funny and smart and enterprising. The western setting is amazingly realistic and the geology is not too heavy-handed. It added an interesting dimension as did the inner-workings of a University science department. I highly recommend!
Keep on Digging, Frankie!

Fascinating desert tales...I am really enjoying the blend of geology and mystery. Frankie has grown so much from a student searching for answers in book 1 to a professional PROVIDING the answers in book three. I hope she keeps them coming!
