Jeanne is so cute! As a huge QVC fan, I watch her all the time. (I'm one of those people who keeps QVC on all the time, because heaven knows that network TV has gone to hell in a handle basket!) Like its author, this book is clever, witty, interesting, informative and very funny! Even if you're not a fan of Jeanne's designs, you will still appreciate her story because it really is universal! I for one am not crazy about her clothing line; it's totally for old ladies (although, even my sweet old granny said she'd never be caught dead wearing such horrid things!) I did have 1 question that Jeanne does not address in her book: why is there always a huge table in front of her when she goes on QVC? It's like they're trying to hide her. Rock on Big Mama!!

This book will grow on you!

Some books grow on you . . . such was the case with PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BRA STAPS by Jeanne Bice, creator of the Quacker Factor. For those not familiar with the company, it is a clothing firm that is one of the most popular lines sold on QVC . . . you won't find a lot of specific information on how the company got to be so successful; rather, you'll get some homespun advice on life, in general . . . and several heartwarming stories about how Bice managed to overcome some of the adversaries in her life. By the end of this brief book, you'll have a smile on your face . . . as the author points out in the Afterword, there's a recipe to follow to help you get there with one key point being to: Be happy Choose to be happy. Happiness is a decision you make, not an emotion you feel. Always find the joy in the day. What comes out of your mouths is what we live. Nobody's perfect; enjoy who you are! I also liked the following sentiment that Bice shared: Today I wish upon you ordinary miracles . . . A call from an old friend A great parking spot when you go shopping The fastest line in the grocery store Green lights all day Your favorite 50's song on the radio to sing along with A day of peace . . . happiness and joy

Pull yourself up by your bra strap

This book is pure delight. Even the cover is fun. Jeanne Brice, the author is the star of Quacker Factory a wonderful whimsical inspirational line of clothes for large and all women sold by QVC. Her book has excerpts of her life and wisdom. It's beautifully done from the cover and all through the book with fun pictures and sayings. Each chapter stands by itself and is so inspirational filling that I only read one chapter at a time. When I need a best friend Jeannie's book is there to give me what I need, such as her quote"Triumph is just a little umph added to try." This book is a keeper. I plan to buy a second one to lend to my friends. Enjoy.

"Quack"tastic

I loved this book !!! Jeanne wrote it just like she sitting across the table talking with you. I am and have been a "quacker" for many years, getting many compliments on the various sweaters I wear. I always thought Jeanne was a funny and fasinating person. After reading her book, I would want her for a neighbor and friend. I laughed in spots and was choked up in others, but what she says is so true. Everyone can relate to something and can take something away with them, and perhaps improve their life or outlook on life. I would highly recommend it.

Quack, Quack

Great uplifting book, especially for anyone who watches QVC and wears the queen quack's clothing. One to keep and reread because if you lend it out you probably won't get it back!
