A young Cochiti Indian girl living with her grandparents in the Cochiti Pueblo near Santa Fe, New Mexico, describes her home and family and the day-to-day life and customs of her people. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Made me think of home, I'm Cochiti too and a long ways from New Mexico. Reading this book I could smell the pinon wood burning and the bread baking. Great for kids to get a sense of a different culture that is very unique and special.
Terrific Book!

Provides a great portrait of modern Pueblo life. I really feel I learned a lot and enjoyed it throughly. I highly recommend this book for children interested in Native Americans and for teachers teaching social studies.
