Immensely readable and compelling.

I had the opportunity to read Robert Shuman's book and thought it was wonderful. I found the book inspiring, immensely readable and compelling whether one has a chronic illness, knows someone who does, or may encounter it in some form in the future. A remarkable book.

This is a beautifully written book which addresses the harsh realities of chronic illness with sensitivity, intelligence, compassion and an abiding belief in the possibility of remaking a world fractured by the visitation of chronic illness. The author, who himself lives with multiple sclerosis, speaks to all whose lives have been impacted by chronic illness, whether as victim, friend or family member of a victim, co-worker or care-giver. This is a truly remarkable, moving, and wise book which offers the gift of genuine personal healing and hope
