Book Overview

Veteran investigative reporter Lasseter now delivers this incredible true story of Cynthia Coffman, the St. Louis housewife who abandoned her family and became the sex-slave of ex-Folsom Prison convict Greg Marlow, known to his fellow inmates as "Folsom Wolf". Together, the pair went on a cross-country spree of sex, torture and murder that ended with their convictions and death sentences.

Has everyone who read this book met Greg and Cindy?

I'm not going to review the book. I'm just going to say... I'm the guy on page 258. The guy who made the "Sinful Cindy" sign. With Print Shop on a Commodore 64. I met Greg once, in the Maya Inn where she tended bar. Since everyone else who wrote a review knows them, I thought I would introduce myself.

Good True Crime for the True Crime Reader

Cynthia Coffman sits on California's death row bitter and full of anger still. I was a paralegal working on her case and when she found out I read this book she became enraged and had me removed from the case by complaining to the lawyers, the judge, everyone. She does not want anyone to read this book. Her reaction only makes me believe this is a pretty accurate account of what took place between her and Folsom Wolf in their murderous spree. It is well written, well researched and a good true crime book. Recommended reading.

SHOCKING. PROVES THAT WE TRULY NEVER KNOW THE PERSON WITHIN

I PERSONALLY KNEW THIS MAN, GREG MARLOW IN 1977 BEFORE THESE KILLINGS OCCURRED. I WAS THE COUNSELOR ASSIGNED TO HIM WHEN HE ENTERED A DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM AS WAS MENTIONED IN THE BOOK. HIS ANGER AND PAIN WERE EVIDENT THEN AT HIS YOUNG AGE - 21. EVEN BEING WITNESS TO HIS OCCASIONAL OUTBURSTS, I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WAS STILL DEEPLY DISTURBED AND MORTIFIED BY THE DIRECTION HIS LIFE TOOK AFTER MY LAST CONTACT WITH HIM. THE DEGREE OF HOSTILITY AND HATRED THAT ERRUPTED DURING THIS KILLING SPREE, POSSIBLY MAGNIFIED BY HIS CHILDHOOD TRAMAS AND NEGLECT, ONLY PARTIALLY MITIGATES THE TREACHERY AND CRUELITY OF THESE CRIMES. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE VICTIMS FAMILIES.

Very well written and factual.

I think this book was well written and gave the facts of the case very well. I had a little more insight into this case than the average reader. Mr. Marlow's 4th wife lived with me for 3 years after the final trials and the books gives a good account of the case and a good biography of Marlow and Coffman.

Very spellbinding. Well written. Should be a movie.

Mr. Lassiter gave this reader an eye view of a very gruesome murder. His expressive words and detail of the account was sensational. I look forward to reading more of his books.
