Loved This Ready-Made Family Romance

This was an excellent romance with an older single mom of two daughters. Wonderful and believable characters. I hope romance authors will start to write more like this with heroes and heroines who are past their twenties. I found the landscape business info interesting as well.

Christine Lynxwiler does it again!!

I've been reading her books since I started reading Heartsong Presents series of books. Christine Lynxwiler is one of my favorite authors!! She's done it again with this new series!! It's not just about romance, but deals realistically with other issues and shows the importance of friendships and how much we all need good dependable friends. I look forward to reading more of this series!! Thanks Christine!!

Reliquish our control to God!

Allie Richards' thirty-fifth birthday couldn't have been worse. A widow with two daughters, Allie recently lost her job and is now denied a loan to start her own landscaping company. After an emotionally difficult day, Allie returns home to a surprise party thrown by her family and friends--not exactly perfect timing to her mind. Christine Lynxwiler takes readers on Allie's journey of struggles, disappointments, joy, and unexpected love in Promise Me Always, the first novel in the Pinky Promise Sisterhood series. With the encouragement of her Pinky Promise sisters, Allie enters the Shady Grove Beautiful Town Landscaping Contest. The winner will receive $[...], a new truck with a custom company logo, and a city landscaping maintenance contract for a year--all the things Allie desires. The only catch is the entire process will be broadcast on the TV news for the entire town's viewing pleasure. Unfortunately for Allie, the news anchor, Blair, tries everything in her power to make Allie and her TLC Landscaping crew the laughingstock of Shady Grove. It doesn't help that the cameraman, Daniel, is boldly pursuing a romantic relationship with her, something she isn't sure she wants. As the novel progresses, Allie struggles to find a balance between working on winning the contest, spending time with her family, and trying to reconcile her conflicting emotions regarding Daniel. The story is told from her point of view, allowing the reader to see into Allie's mind, revealing her humorous and honest thoughts. She is continually reminded that she needs to trust God in all things. Only when Allie gives full control to the Lord does she experience true joy and the realization of her dreams. Nearly all women and older-teen girls will be able to relate to Allie on some level. Though the message of relinquishing our control to God is heard repeatedly in Christian circles, Lynxwiler portrays that common struggle realistically in this story of friendship and hope. - Christy Wong, Christian Book [...]

I Pinky Swear It's Good!

There was a time when Allie Richards didn't have to be sensible. But that was before she was widowed with two young girls. Now she has lost her job, and the small severance check is forcing her to be practical. Allie's dreams of owning a landscaping business are shot down by the bank, so she is back to square one. Enter the Pinky Promise Sisterhood--a group of friends from way back. They devise a plan for Allie to enter Shady Grove's Beautiful Town contest, and in the process, launch her new business. Poor Allie runs into problems along the way. To start with, her staff consists of the "Pinkies" and her unemployed (for good reason) brother. How will she compete with these legitimate landscaping teams? The contest is filmed for a daily reality show. The channel's scheming newscaster provides interference and embarrassment. Allie's worst predicament is with the good-looking cameraman/coffee shop owner who wants to be more than a friend. Allie's practicality plays tug of war with her heart's desires when it comes to the two men in her life. Promise Me Always is hard to put down. The chapters move along, as readers gets the opportunity to take a peak into Allie's life and forget about their own lives for a while. With romance, conflict, and challenges woven into the story, the book promises to be a hit for author Christine Lynxwiler.

A fun, entertaining story

Allie Richards dreams of opening her own landscaping business, but she's a widow with two kids and no money. The bank turns down her request for a loan, so when Shady Grove sponsors a Pre-centennial Celebration Beautiful Town Contest, Allie and her friends from the Pinky Promise Sisterhood sign up. Like all good businesswomen, Allie has a plan B. If she can't have a landscaping business, she'll find a good Christian businessman on his way up. She does find one, and believe it or not, his name is Trevor Wright. Allie starts thinking of him as "Mr. Right." Then Daniel Mongtomery, who was the town bad boy back in High School, comes home. He's better looking than ever, rides a Harley, has curly brown hair, a tantalizing scar, and is obviously a free spirit. definitely nothing that fits into Allie's Plan B. Promise Me Always is a fun, entertaining story about a woman who has her life all planned, and isn't about to let anything, not even a man as intriguing as Daniel Montgomery get in her way. If you want a fast paced, fun filled romance, Promise Me always is for you.
