Prentice Hall Test Prep Series: Microsoft Word 2002 MOUS Core Level

I purchased this book to take the MOS Certification test. I needed a book to augment the on-line lessons I was taking. This book proved to be worth the investment. The lessons are easy to follow; they are augmented with sample documents for you to practice with which you download from the Prentice Hall website. The material covers a lot of the basics that you may or may not be familiar with, while adding the new features for Word 2002. Linda Ericksen did a great job working this book through. The material is exact, with skill drills and challenges to reinforce the learning, troubleshooting problems you may have with your training, showing you alternate ways of performing the same tasks and discussing each feature in depth.I found myself referencing this book more often than the on-line lessons I was taking. I opted at the last minute to take the Expert test rather than the Specialist test. I was surprised to find I didn't fail that test by much. I'm sure I would have passed the Specialist Test if I had opted to take that. The material covered in the Core book was actually on the Expert test, a factor that helped make my score as good as it was. I have purchased the Expert Book in this course to cover the material I missed on the Expert Certification test. I will be retesting shortly and will report on the use of the Expert Book in this series and how well it assists for the retest. Be advised that this entire Core Level book is included in the Expert Level book, so if you are looking to eventually go to the Expert Test, it is better to just purchase the Expert Book now. A good investment if you are looking for assistance in passing the Specialist Certification. I am very pleased with this product.
