If you take Richard Bandler's advice and challenge, in this order, Generalizations, Distortions and then Deletions, along with Universal Quantifiers and Modal Operators then the magic of language shimmers and dazzles with the addition of Precision. Somewhere to go with the Meta-Model. My teacher Roger V. Lees was trained by Richard and taught us the material the way that Richard used it. When I learned from John Grinder he really strengthened the ability of my language usage by paring down the questions and allowing us to hold to a direction to eliminate extraneous material. All the while staying with the client in real time. Easily too!
One of the best books on business communications - EVER!

I attended one of John Grinder's NLP workshops many years ago in Toronto and thought NLP would have a great application in business. Sure enough, John and Michael came out with this book in 1980 that applies the NLP concept to the business world. This book should be compulsory reading in all business schools. This book teaches - by way of specific examples - managers how to get the best quality information on any situation so that they can make the right decision. Any person reading this book will see why there is so much misunderstanding and miscommunication in the business world. I highly recommend this book.
SESQUIPEDALIAN JEWEL

A simple, straightforward, slightly sesquipedalian book on how to hear what questions to ask to get the information you need. Good discussions on the required discriminatory skill for determining information you need to know and information you need to not know to make your managerial decisions more effectively. It could have used drills for each section to properly achieve fluency in the skills presented.I found the metaphors throughout the book a very nice touch.
