Preaching Through the Christian Year: Year B: A Comprehensive Commentary on the Lectionary

I'm not big into using other people's lectionary guides when preparing sermons. Most of them are not worth the money. It seems to me that pastors who rely too heavily on such material cease to be be original and lack scholarship. This series is not like that. The authors are among today's best preachers. They give direction and background, but do not offer "canned" sermons. If you preach from the Revised Common Lectionary, this series WILL improve your preaching. Whatever you do, don't go any deeper into the year without purchasing this entire series. Bonus hint: If you preach from the Revised Common Lectionary, look up textweek.com.
