Practical Chinese Reader Book 1: Simplified Character Text

This is an excellent book for those wanting to begin or continue learning Mandarin Chinese at the beginner level. The book is in simplified characters and pinyin with English translations, contains 30 lessons of useful everday situation Chinese, and step-by-step instructions on the order of character writing. I am majoring in Chinese Language and Literature and I found this book to be a great help. With 551 pages in all, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to start learning Chinese. *note- some of the sounds in chinese are difficult to make, I would advise those who want to learn to find either a native speaker or take a class in Chinese.
