Valuable Insight Into Williams's Poetry.

While initially I read the essays in this collection as sources for a paper on Williams, I found it extremely useful to my own writing to read his thoughts about poetry and discussing his ability to briefly focus on his surroundings in so many of his poems that result in powerful and deeply felt poems. In one essay, "On `From My Window' " Williams discusses the actual events that inspired the poem, mentioning, "much of our moral education consists in.... apparently minor, oblique encounters."
