I'm basically a total idiot when it comes to keeping house, because I was raised by a groovy '70s mom who couldn't be bothered. That was fun, but frankly I really just needed some homey home advice, and this book gave it to me! Plus it's so cute. I didn't feel like a dork buying it and it is sooooo helpful. Like having a cool next door neighbor who knows stuff.

I just got married, and am completely clueless about everything household related. This little gem helps me look like a star while entertaining, and has made my husband absolutely THRILLED. I applaud Ms. Perron for coming up with such a fabulous guide. Buy immediately!

Celeste's advice covers EVERYTHING I wish I knew starting out. I could have saved so much money spent on bad decorating and cooking if I had someone to give me the information provided clearly and with great wit in this book. Honestly, I don't think this is just for gals - my little brother could use it too!

Why didn't someone think of this book before? It's shows you how to have a great home without being fussy or ultra-perfect!! What a wonderful book for anyone who wants to have a more comfortable, beautiful and inviting home, whether just for yourself to enjoy or to entertain others as well. This is such a cute book and the advice from professional decorators, chefs, housekeepers etc. is wonderful. My favorite are the tips on curtains and cooking to impress a guy!! I'm going to keep this in my kitchen next to my cookbooks - it's that indispensable!!

I picked this up thinking this would be a great gift for recent college grads and newlyweds. But after browsing a few chapters, I realized I too still had a lot to learn at age 32. It's a smart, entertaining read on being a grown-up with style and a sense of humor. Perron breaks it down for us busy working girls with great ideas for making entertaining, decorating, cooking, and cleaning easy, less daunting, and dare-I-say FUN.
