Left me wanting to read more...

I got a lot of chick lit books off of Ebay and saw the title Pillow Talk. I have never read anything from this author. The title reminded me of the movie. So I took a chance. I usually only read a book for about an hour a day and this was not the case. I could not put it down. I was thrilled with Meg's attuitude on life. As a mom of 3 boys, I felt her pain and determination. I laughed and I shed a tear. I here to find more of Hailey North's Books.

I was so sad when this book ended I wanted more More MORE

It is a great book but I was so sad when this book ended. I just felt like I was getting to know the characters and I didn't want to put the book down. i wanted to find out just what happened with Parker and Meg. There were a few strings left untied... maybe there will be a sequel in the future... I want to know more about what happens to them...

On A Whim

Picked this book up on a whim, I usually read mystery and suspense and was pleasantly surprised!! Enjoyed the whole book, would love to have Meg as a friend!! Just wasn't like your usual romance novel , "boy meets girl, they jump in the sack" it is sooo much more realistic! Give this book a try, you won't be sorry, I am out tomorrow to find all others by this author!! I love the "feel good" feeling I had when the book was finished. Although I admit, I wish I could know more of what happens in the future to these characters HINT HINT!

Funny account of widow settling her husband's affairs.

Margaret "Call Me Meg" McKenzie Cooper had come to New Orleans to settle the affairs of the recently deceased husband Jules Ponthier. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! Meg didn't think she'd be so involved with the Ponthier family or Jules's younger brother Parker. Once again, it's laugh out loud fun. Take an unsuspecting widow, one sexy, good-looking brother, mix with a precocious child, throw in cousins and grandparents, and you'll have a recipe for one hilarious gumbo! Laissez les bons temps rouler! (Let the good times roll.)

A really teriffic romp

Her first spouse died after eleven years of marriage, leaving Meg Mckenzie Cooper to raise their children by herself. Meg works very hard as a waitress and would do anything to make her children's' lives a bit easier. When Jules Panthier approached her with a strange business deal, she planned to reject his offer. However, he knew about her desire to give her children more and managed to attain Meg's agreement. Jules would marry Meg in return for her presence in a deal he needs to complete without his powerful, wealthy brother's knowledge. The pair marries. However, Meg quickly becomes a widow again when someone murders Jules in an apparent drug deal that went sour. Jules' brother Parker arrives to toss out his deceased sibling's latest prostitute, only to learn that the marriage is legitimate. He introduces Meg to his family, including Jules' ten-year old child. Meg wants to leave, but stays to help her lonely step-son. Soon four children drive obsessed business mogul Parker into blissful lunacy. As the adults battle one another, they fall in love, but neither one is prepared for the emotion. Can four kids and a mother-in-law play matchmaker to two obstinate adults? With this amusing novel and her previous delightful work (see BEDROOM EYES), Hailey North is attaining a deserved reputation for jocular, entertaining romances. PILLOW TALK is filled with humor yet dexterously looks into the problems of children with single parents. The story line is enjoyable and fun due to the witty exchanges between the two protagonists and the interference of the support characters. Ms. North gently rocks her audience with a one-day reader that, in spite of seriously looking at a social issue, lifts the spirits through laughter and romance. Harriet Klausner
