Great for Multiple Level English Learners

I have been using this in my fourth grade classroom. I have students who have just arrived from other countries as well as students who speak English only. Everybody gains something from the stories and the activities require speaking, listening, reading and writing. There are 4 activities per story in a gradually more difficult (more writing and comprehension) sequence. The stories are funny and the pictures are well-drawn. I wish there were a Volume 2...
