Geek Girl: Picture Perfect

Harriet Manners and her family are out of work, desperate her father takes a job that sends them across the pond to New York City. Unfortunately they can't afford the city and end up in the suburbs, where it sucks to no end. Harriet goes to the city and meets up with her boyfriend Nick, who seems too busy for her and not too happy when she jokes she's run away from home. She is also not happy when her parents ground her for getting upset they forgot her birthday, this prompts Harriet to rebel. But in time they learn that the city that never sleeps has its charm yes, but it can also seduce even the most grounded and steadfast of individuals and take entire families apart. Holly Smale makes an enjoyable read for young adults that even adults would enjoy.
