Best Physics Book out there!!!

I am a college student currently enrolled in physics. I also took physics in high school. I have looked at and read several physics books. This is BY FAR the BEST physics text I have come across.

Fine book, good historical perspective, easy but not concise

After using this book for a one year introductory Physics course I have to admit this book has everything you need to know in a language easy to understand. What I really liked about this book is how it explains physics through history. The downside of this text is the way the equations are represented, the author has done a fine job in deriving the equations but instead of neatly seperating the final equations they are left there in the middle of the authors derivation. Also the author has tried to simplify the introduction to physics chapter by explaining everything by giving tons of examples (only in the first few chapters) making the text unatractive and tedious to the first time reader.
