Good Novel of the Persian Gulf

Fictionalized account of the takeover of a US warship by Iranian marines after Gulf One. Reminded me a lot of Steven Siegal's movie Under Siege. Same basic plot plan but this book is better even than the movie. Not one, but a few men, are not rounded up during the takeover by the terrorists who sneak up to the ship in Zodiac inflatable boats with silenced electric motors. Written by a naval officer who was in the Gulf. Very realistic descriptions. You hate the bad guys in the book and really want them to get what they have coming to them. This is a real tribute to the US fighting men of the Navy: both the rank and file guys who use their own initiative to help defeat the terrorists and the Navy SEALs who get aboard to try and re-take control of the ship. The plan of the terrorists is pretty well thought out but things start to go wrong from the beginning thanks to a few sailors who hid out on the ship during the takeover. Worth the read.

oustanding naval adventure story ,real f,ast ,explosive

told by real active duty naval officer who has been there, done that and tells the story realistically in a combat situation, heroics abound by men who still believe in duty and honor with a respect for the enemy, who are characterized as humans with agendas not demons, but as the author writes we see the evil personified ..the bad guys are truly delineated and you cant wait for them to get nailed.the authors words ring with authenticity and you know he has been in these situations himself..no phony contrived plotlines..just the facts mamm...clancy better look to his laurels,,,,,,,,,over and out
