Chief Inspector Harry Feiffer's Yellowthread Street cops may operate out of a shabby station in the back alleys of Hong Kong, but in their devotion to solving crimes they are as British as the best that Scotland Yard can muster. As a vicious typhoon closes in on Hong Kong, bringing death and destruction, Vhief Inspector Harry Feiffer must contend with an even greater source of terror - six police officers at a nearby precinct have been gruesomely executed by a criminal who may not even be human. The only clues are giant claw marks on the station's walls and the testimony of a street vendor who swears he saw a man-sized cat on the station's premises. When four other officers disappear, the crew at Yellowthread Street station begins to wonder if the next victim will be from their own ranks.
