Hysterical

I loved this book so much. I felt like I had written it. I find this author quite appealing.

Don't let the title fool you - it's a lovely read

I absolutely loved this book and didn't expect to! I originally bought it because I was looking for a funny memoir to read and figured I'd give this one a shot. I was so excited when I began reading and discovered that not only was it relatable, it was also hilarious and well-written. I particularly enjoyed how she explored her quirks and experiences without trying to come across as "cute" or impossibly self-effacing, something I have noticed in a few other gal-penned memoirs. Usually when I see a writer being compared to David Sedaris, I get the book and come away disappointed. This time I feel the comparison is accurate. She has a knack for writing about embarrassing experiences in a way that makes you relate - but without any self-pity. Don't let the title fool you - the book isn't catty & it has heart. Simply put: awesome.

This Book, however, IS Appealing!

I love this book. It's just the thing to pose with in a cafe, in the hopes that someone not challenged by humor will strike up a conversation. This author is amazing, and can almost make me feel like my childhood was veering towards normal. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

don't hesitate, just buy it you crazy nut

This book had me in stitches ~ it truly is laugh-out-loud funny. In private AND public! Barron's perspective is fresh, provocative and insightful. She keenly observes both mundane and outlandish situations/relationships and then recounts them hilariously, charmingly, cathartically. Her style is her own, she has a unique talent for storytelling. A fantastic debut! A definite must!

this book IS appealing

Laugh-out-loud funny! Hilarious and insightful, full of the absurdity of being alive. Brilliantly critiques the desire for celebrity that has plagued everyone born in the digital sunrise, and skewers the celebrities themselves. It's a bleeping riot.

LOL. Really.

She is high-lair-ee-ous. I cannot believe the things she says in this book. Really. Very funny and liberating. Just the things you can do with an Oral B toothbrush. Very funny. Can't wait to read this outloud to my girlfriends.
