Pensando En Ingles = Thinking about English

I'm a certified bilingual teacher and have been involved in adult education for the past two years. Simply put, I teach English to non-speakers. I live on the Texas-Mexican border, and most of my students come from Mexico, with an occasional one from Central America. There were varying levels of education among them, but they all were eager to learn. And they all appreciated this book. They commented on how much they liked having a book written in Spanish explaining the ins and outs of English. This book puts a great deal of emphasis on grammar, and in this area it is excellent. It's weak on phonics teaching, although some words are spelled out phonetically in parenthesis. I would suggest that anyone who uses this book to teach should also have separate teaching materials about phonics. No book can ever cover all of the ways people learn, including this one. But it's still a good book to use. It will benefit the students in giving them a comprehensive and step-by-step approach to the English language.
