Book Overview

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a married man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a son and heir... Thus begins Emma Tennant's inspired sequel to Jane Austen's most beloved novel, Pride and Prejudice. A Must Read!!!!!

I would give the book Pemberley five stars becuase it is a GREAT book. It is very detailed and to give it a 4 would be lying to you. I would recommend this book to someone that likes to read about the older days and romance. (This book has its good times and bad times!)It has quite - a little bit of adventure and some fighting. This book starts out like every other book - mundane (dull), then as things build up - can't say too much, but this book is a must read!!!!!

One of my favorites!

I gave this book a try and really enjoyed it. Its one of my favorite sequels to P & P...and to those writing LONG hateful comments about the book..you might want to consider the fact that you don't like reading at all and go back to your sexed up historical romance novels.

Emma Austin?

No certainly not, but it is a good book in itself. You cannot expect a Jane Austin novel from someone who is not Jane Austin so therefore GET OVER IT... In my opinion this is a good book and at least I got to see a view of what the Darcy's life may have been like. Granted there are a few children mistakes etc, but it is just a book and I love to read and if you always focus on every indiscrepency in any book you cannot truly enjoy it. When I read I go into the book, into the story, I become the characters, I feel what they feel, and I live what they live. That is the joy of a good book, and that is just what you will get with this book. So, don't expect Jane Austen. Expect yet one more great book.
